Gameplay
Play the classic word - spelling game you know and love! Only "Scrabble - Classic Word Game" uses the official game board, letter tiles, and the Scrabble dictionary to deliver an authentic crossword - puzzle experience.
Game Rules
- Basic Rules: Up to four players can participate in this game. The goal is to score more points than your opponents. Players score points by placing words on the game board. Each letter has a different point value, so the strategy lies in forming words with high - scoring letter combinations.
- Game Board: The game board consists of a square grid of cells, 15 cells wide and 15 cells high. The game letter tiles can be placed into these cells by dragging and dropping, with one letter tile per cell.
- Letter Tiles: The game uses 100 letter tiles. Among them, 98 tiles have letters on them, and 2 are wild cards with "". A wild card can substitute for any letter in the alphabet. Different letters have different point values, which depend on the rarity and difficulty of using the letter. Wild cards have no point value.
- Letter Tile Point Values:
- 0 points – Wild card
- 1 point – A, E, I, L, N, O, R, S, T, U
- 2 points – D, G
- 3 points – B, C, M, P
- 4 points – F, H, V, W, Y
- 5 points – K
- 8 points – J, X
- 10 points – Q, Z
- Extra Points: Some squares on the Scrabble board represent multipliers. If a letter tile is placed on these squares, the point value of the letter tile will be multiplied by 2 or 3. Some squares double the point value of the entire word, not just the letter tile on that square.
- Double Letter Score (DL) - Green squares are scattered across the board. When a letter tile is placed on this square, the point value of the letter tile is multiplied by 2.
- Triple Letter Score (TL) - These are the yellow squares on the board. The point value of a letter tile placed on this square is multiplied by 3.
- Double Word Score (DW) - Blue squares are located diagonally at the four corners of the board. When a player forms a word on these squares, the point value of the entire word is multiplied by 2.
- Triple Word Score (TW) - These are the red squares on the game board. They are located on the four sides of the board, equidistant from the four corners. When a word is formed using this square, the point value of the word is multiplied by 3.
Note that the extra - point squares can only be used once. If a player uses these squares to form a word, the point value will not be doubled the next time the square is used to form a word.
- Game Start: At the start of the game, each player randomly receives 7 letter tiles. The game starts with the first player. A player has three options in a round: place a word, exchange letter tiles, or skip. In most cases, players will choose to place a word.
Exchanging letter tiles allows a player to replace 1 to all of the letter tiles on their rack. If this option is chosen, the player cannot perform any other actions in this round. Therefore, when a player places a word on the board, they cannot exchange letter tiles. A player can choose to skip at any time.
Players start the game by placing a word on the center square of the board.
- Round Action Options:
- To place a word, drag and drop the letter tiles onto the board and click the "Apply" button.
- To exchange letter tiles, press the "Exchange" button, select the letter tiles to exchange, and then press "Apply".
- To swap the positions of letter tiles, press the "Shuffle" button.
- To cancel a word that has been placed on the board, drag the letter tiles back and click the "Cancel" button.
- To skip a round, press the "Skip" button.
- Game End: The game ends when all the letter tiles have been taken and a player has used up all the letter tiles on their rack. Additionally, if the number of consecutive skipped rounds by players reaches the current number of players multiplied by 2, the game also ends. For example, if 2 players skip 4 consecutive rounds. The player with the highest score wins.
- Acceptable Words*: Players can use any word found in a standard English dictionary.
